ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION, PURPOSE PROJECT
Alexandra Cooper’s research interests include survey and experimental methods, human behavior, and the role institutional structures play in shaping outcomes. She earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998 and has held faculty positions at UNC Charlotte, Duke University, and Lafayette College. She joined Duke’s SSRI in 2003, supporting a variety of interdisciplinary training and research programs as Associate Director for Education & Training and consulting on a wide range of survey research projects. In 2021, she took on a new role as Associate Director for Evaluation and Assessment at Duke’s Purpose Project. She supports the Project by gathering evidence about the Project’s programs and their effects and by working with Project team members to examine and understand what that evidence shows us about what the Project does and can accomplish.
